• Cooperative Team Sponsorship

    This form should only be completed by the lead school in the co-op. Other schools will receive a signature form to complete.
  • Section 11 of Article VI - The Board of Control has authority to approve cooperative team sponsorship (one team in a given sport involving two or more member schools) under the following conditions:

    1. The schools involved must be in the same geographical area.
    2. The agreement for a cooperative team must specify two school years, but that agreement may be terminated by the Board of Control for documented extenuating circumstances.
    3. Cooperative team applications must include a signature page reflecting:
      1. Approval of involved schools.
      2. Approval of involved board(s) of education or governing bodies.
      3. Approval of conference in which the cooperative team will participate.
      4. The program will adhere to a no-cut policy.
        Note: Board of Control and conference approval is not required for non-varsity cooperative teams.
    4. Total enrollment of schools involved in a cooperative team will determine classification of competition in WIAA tournament series.
    5. Requests for approval and to add a cooperative team into WIAA tournament competition must be received in the WIAA office by the following deadline dates to be included in the subsequent year's tournament program:

    Fall - Oct 1, 2025    -    Winter - Feb 1, 2026    -    Spring - May 1, 2026

    This form should only be completed by the lead school in the co-op. Other schools will receive a signature form to complete. Once completed you will receive an email with signature instructions to forward to other schools in the co-op. Once all signatures have been received, the application is complete.

    The next opportunity for football co-op application/renewal will be October 1, 2026 for the 2028-29 & 2029-30 school year.

    Renewing Expiring: Renewing expiring cooperative agreement - no changes.

    Changing Expiring: Removing/adding school(s) to an expiring co-op (2026 Fall, 2027 winter/spring) or changing the lead school. 

    Add to Existing: Adding school(s) to an existing co-op or changing lead school of an existing co-op not up for renewal (1yr)(2026 Fall, 2027 winter/spring ExpireYr). Dropping school(s) from the co-op in the first year of an agreement is not allowed.

    New: Creating a new cooperative agreement.
